Scenic View Motel & RV Park

  We originally had RV reservations at Scenic View for the Thanksgiving holidays. Due to repairs being incomplete on our RV in time for our trip, we thought we were… read more going to have to cancel. Kim was so gracious and offered one of the motel rooms for our stay. It was perfect for our holiday getaway! We had a great time. We spent some time shopping in nearby Jefferson and Avenger. Kim made some wonderful suggestions for restaurants and we enjoyed dining there. We took in a movie in Dangerfield at a nostalgic movie theater. It was like the movie theaters of our childhood…so much fun! We took relaxing strolls all around the Scenic View area and gazed in wonder at the beautiful sunsets over the lake. Lastly, the Christmas decorations and lights were turned on the day after Thanksgiving. The lights were amazing! It was like a fantasyland set in years past. The room had everything that we needed, including a fully functional kitchenette. We were even able to dock our fishing boat on the pier right in front of the lodge. This little mom and pop lake resort property was well kept by the owners, both inside the room and outside on the grounds. We will be coming back to stay very soon.

Sitting on our own front porch and watching the sunset, the moon and stars come out, and the quiet waves lapping was incredibly relaxing – just what we wanted. Owners Kim & Jim were friendly and so hospitable. We joined them for Thirsty Thursday and got to know them better and meet some local friends of theirs. This lovely lake retreat is a hidden and peaceful gem — the perfect place to relax while visiting the close by state parks and golf courses. More

It is a very quiet and private little place and could be very relaxing. The reason i give them only 3 stars is because we had a service dog (13 lbs) and these people harassed us about him the whole time. After informing them that he was a certified trained dog they kept questioning if he would potty in the room. They were upset that when we were unloading he got on the dresser and looked out of the curtain, and he did bark when the owner was on the roof gleaning the gutters. not the whole time mind you. They were under the impression that I was not allowed to step out of the room and leave him with my husband to take a swim, or fish at the shore. Every time they saw us, they had some issue and made it sound as if we had a wild dog that we were letting run loose. My husband and i never get out, and this would have been a nice little break, instead I was upset and stressed and just tried to follow their expectations and stay out of their cross hairs. This is a truly beautiful resort, but if you have a service dog, steer clear! More

If you are looking for a place to relax and have fun, this is a great place to visit. We feel safe and are able to relax and enjoy every moment. We have our RV’s to stay in, but they have a sweet motel and a cabin to reserve if you don’t camp. Kim and Jim, the owners, will help make you stay a happy one!
